Graduate of the the U.S. Navy V-12 College Training Program, College of the Holy Cross. Served as an Ensign on the Fast Attack Transport USS Oneida; 1945-1946, carrying men and cargo in and out of combat zones. Operations included the Battle of Okinawa, April 1-June 30, 1945. Participated in Operation Magic Carpet returning U.S. Military personnel to the United States. Served during the occupation of Japan with Radio Tokyo at the Naval Communications Facility in Yokosuka.
