Bombardier 1035; Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes. Air Medal GO 342 Hq 1 BD September 1944 with 5 oak leaf clusters GO 67 Hq 1 BD January 1945. He served for four years as a bombardier/navigator in the 8th Air Force of the U.S. Army Air Corps. During this time he completed thirty-five bombing missions over Europe. He was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant after the war ended in 1945.
