Activity During WWII

Attached to the 81st Chemical Mortar Battalion with the Big Red 1. Landed on Omaha Beach (Easy Red) in the 1st wave of the Normandy Invasion. Received a Silver Star for Bravery and Valor for transporting wounded soldiers off the beach under heavy enemy fire. Received a Bronze Star for Bravery in Action later in the war.
