Activity During WWII

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps when he lied about his age to enlist during WWII. He had just turned 16 years old and was serving at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii when the Japanese attacked on December 7, 1941. He returned fire with his rifle and also helped to pull the wounded and dead out of the water. He was wounded by shrapnel but after recovering he went on to participate in 17 major battles. He was awarded the Purple Heart along with many other medals.
