Activity During WWII

Enlisted on 29 June 1942 at Detroit, Michigan. 1 October 1942 was assigned to Thirteenth Candidate Class Quantico, Virginia. 1 October 1943, 2nd Lieutenant assigned to 1st Battalion, 29th Marines, 6th Marine Division. He was presented the Navy Cross for action on 2 July 1944 on Saipan. 1 April 1945, landed on Okinawa, unit earned the Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary Heroism in action 1 April to 21 June 1945.
