Activity During WWII

In 1943, he was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Forces. He was assigned into heavy bombardment group and spent time overseas on Tinian Island as an assistant crew chief on a B-29 aircraft. His plane made 29 strikes against the Japanese homeland before they surrendered.
