Activity During WWII

SERVED AS AN ASSISTANT RADIO OPERATOR ON A B-24 'LIBERATOR' BOMBER WITH THE 14TH AIR FORCE, 308TH BOMB GROUP, 374TH BOMB SQUADRON IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. WHILE ON A MISSION TO BOMB RANGOON, BURMA ON NOVEMBER 27, 1943, HIS AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED ENGINE TROUBLE AND ALL CREW MEMBERS HAD TO BAIL OUT. THE ENTIRE CREW OF 10 WERE CAPTURED BY THE JAPANESE AND BECAME PRISONERS OF WAR. THEY WERE IMPRISONED AT RANGOON PRISONER OF WAR CAMP WHERE HE DIED FROM MALNUTRITION AND DISEASE.
