Rank: Private 1st Class. On January 5, 1940, he entered the United States Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Served with Company B, 31st Infantry Regiment attached to the Philippine Scouts in the Philippine Islands, Southwest Pacific Theater of Operations. Reported missing in action Monday, April 6, 1942 during the counterattack on Mount Samat in the Battle of Bataan (Battle Dates: January 7-April 9, 1942). In remembrance of the Brave, his name is recorded in the Tablets of the Missing, memorialized at the Manila American Cemetery located at Fort Bonifacio, in the Philippine Islands. Awards: Bronze Star and Purple Heart. This Soldier and American Patriot awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, who so gallantly gave his life for his country.
