Activity During WWII

He served on the LSM(R) 190, rocket landing ship in campaigns in the liberation of the Pacific Theater. He was sadly lost in the battle of Okinawa, on May 4th, 1945, when his ship was hit by multiple kamikazes. For splashing several enemy aircraft in the battle, his ship and crew was awarded a Navy Commendation.
