Activity During WWII

He served as First Lieutenant in WWII with the 100th Infantry Division (Century Division), 398th Infantry Regiment, Second Battalion, Company I, in the European Theater of Operations. He was Killed In Action On December 18, 1944, while commanding his Company in the area of Bitche, France, near the Maginot line. He was awarded the Silver Star Medal for Gallantry and Purple Heart Medal.
