He was an Army Air Force aviation cadet whose navigation training flight from Mather Field, Sacramento, California crashed on November 18, 1942 in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park in California. His remains were not found until August 2007 in a frozen glacier. He was buried on May 17, 2008 in Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
