Activity During WWII

Enlisted in 1943 and was an army boxing champion in 1944. Wounded in the battle of Hurtgen Forest in 1944. Awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good conduct medal and European campaign ribbon. Later in 1945, awarded the Bronze Star and WWII Victory medal while in hospital in the USA.
