Activity During WWII

Served in the U.S. ARMY during WWII, 1942-1945. On June 6, 1944, he was part of the first wave of troops to land on Omaha Beach, Normandy, France. He was one of 65 that survived out of 187 in his Company E, 2nd Battalion, 16th infantry of the 1st Division and continued across France, Belgium, Germany and Czechoslovakia until Germany surrendered on May 8, 1945.
