Activity During WWII

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII. Rejected by the U.S. Army just prior to the war, he went to Canada and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he got his flying experience. He was discharged when Pearl Harbor was bombed and allowed to join the U.S. Army Air Forces. He was piloting an artillery observation plane during the Battle of the Bulge when he was shot down in 1945. He spent the next four months in a German Prisoner of War camp. He received the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.
