Enlisted in the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES) on July 16, 1943. Trained as a ship's cook in New York. Assigned as a cook at WAVE Headquarters 'D' barracks in Washington, D.C. and later at Pearl Harbor. Discharged in 1946. Awarded the American and Asiatic-Pacific campaign ribbons and the WWII Victory medal.
