Performed duties of Executive Sound, Radio, Personnel and Watch Officer. Duty was in connection with sweep operations; preceded by Escort Work and trip from New York to Pacific forward area. He was assigned to minesweeper UMS-403 as the Executive Officer where he was attached until 1945. The ship was sweeping the area near the Harbor of Kobe and Osaka which was one of the main headquarters of the U.S. Occupation forces.
