445th Bomb Group, 702nd Squadron, Tibenham, England. He was co-pilot on the B-24 Bomber 'B.T.O.'. On it's 13th mission in April 1944, B.T.O. was shot up to the point that they diverted to Sweden where the crew was interned until September or October 1944 when they were returned to the United States.
