Activity During WWII

ROTC at MIT. Enlisted in 1944 and became an electronics technician. Fluent in Chinese, he served in the Pacific in 1944-1946, establishing the U.S. Military radio communications stations in Shanghai and Nanjing. He was awarded the Navy merit unit ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific campaign ribbon, the Philippine Liberation ribbon and the WWII Victory medal.
