Sang for the United Service Organizations as a mezzo soprano. Her version of 'Now is the Hour' was broadcast twice daily by U.S. Radio stations in the South Pacific and later she sang with Vera Lynn and Kate Smith. She survived a Japanese bombing raid in Auckland. Upon return to the USA she was active in the Red Cross, United Service Organizations and Bundles for Britain (the British Relief Society).
