Activity During WWII

Officer training school at Kansas State. he was a platoon commander in the 442nd Infantry Regiment, part of the 103rd Infantry Division. He was captured after his battalion was overwhelmed on the first week of the Battle of the Bulge and spent five months in a German Prisoner of War camp. Later he was awarded the Bronze Star and Prisoner of War medal.
