Deployed by ship with the Infantry Replacement to Italy in January 1944 and permanently assigned to the 120TH Army Ground Forces Band with the 5th Army Headquarters in Valtorta Valley which he served in theater until returned to the United States and Honorably discharged on 12 February 1946.
