Activity During WWII

A Member of the Civilian Conservation Corps, Army Maine Unit No. 1. Served in the 240th Coast Artillery, Army National Guard, Battery G at Fort Williams in Portland, Maine. Discharged in 1942 after an accident, he subsequently worked at Bath Iron Works making destroyers and as a volunteer Air Force Aircraft spotter. He was awarded the Good Conduct, American Defense, WWII Victory medal, American theater ribbon, the Maritime Commission merit badge and the Air Force Volunteer merit badge with 500 hours bar.
