Truck Driver Light: Served 6 1/2 months in France, Germany, and Austria with the 13th Armored Division. Had charge of 2 ammunition trucks and 2 refueling units. Directed and supervised the maintenance of these trucks. Had previously instructed trainees in the handling and maneuvering of medium tanks; also had been an instructor in driving, servicing, and maintaining 2 1/2 ton trucks; drove at nite under blackout conditions hauling gasoline to forward areas in the refueling of tanks and recon assistance units.
