Activity During WWII

Served as a gunner in the 570th Bomb Squadron, 390th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force in Europe. Shot down a German ME262 jet on April 10, 1945 on a raid over Burg, Germany. Awarded the Air medal with six clusters and a Presidential Unit citation. Tragically he was killed the day he was to be discharged in an automobile accident.
