Activity During WWII

He served in the European-African-Middle Eastern Conflict, and he served aboard the USS Herzog DE-178. He also served aboard the USS Stokes AKA-68. He helped land U.S. Marines on the beach in the invasion of Iwo Jima on February 19, 1945. After going through the Panama Canal to the Pacific Ocean, he helped the U.S. marines land on the beach during the invasion of Okinawa off the Southern tip of Japan.
