Activity During WWII

Served in the 214th Coast Artillery Regiment and was involved in the battle and security of Guadalcanal from September 1942 through June 1943. In late June 1943, he boarded one of two cargo ships (USS Aludra or USS Deimos) along with other military members for transport out of the area. Both ships were torpedoed and many of the military passengers were killed. He was listed as Missing in Action and later presumed Killed in Action.
