3rd Lieutenant, Assistant Platoon Leader, L Company, 3rd Battalion, 52nd Infantry Regiment, 51st Division, Commonwealth Army of the Philippines. Inducted into U.S. Army Forces in the Far East by order of President Franklin D. Roosevelt on 9-1-41. Active in defense of the Philippines from Point of Japanese Landings to delaying action to Battles of Bataan until capture of U.S. Army Forces in the Far East Forces on 4-9-42. Forced to infamous Bataan Death March to Camp O'Donnell, Tarlac. Released 8-4-42, joined Guerrillas up to Liberation. Honorable Discharge 6-1-46.
