Activity During WWII

Served as a rifleman with the 239th Infantry Regiment of the 83rd Division in France and Luxembourg. Awarded Combat Infantryman Badge for meritorious front line service. Captured by Germans at Oswald, Luxembourg on 13 October 1944 and remained a Prisoner of War until freed by the U.S. Army on 3 May 1945.
