Activity During WWII

He served in the 20th Army Air Corps which was a B-29 bombardment group. He entered the service late in 1943 and shipped out overseas February 12, 1944 on a Liberty ship. He traveled around the world in his service stopping in North Africa, Italy, Egypt, India, Australia, China, Ie Shima, Iwo Jima, Tinian and a few others before heading back to the U.S. when the war ended arriving home December 24, 1945. He witnessed at his base the Japanese surrender staff change planes (from Japanese to American planes so as to not get shot down) on their way to end the war.
