Master Sergeant and an Aircraft Maintenance Technician and Carbine Marksman. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He attended Aerial Gunnery School in Harlingen, Texas and Airline Mechanic School at Keesler Field, Mississippi. He was promoted to Master Sergeant on February 28, 1945 at Drew Field, Florida. Promotion to Technical Sergeant was on February 1, 1944. He served with the 327th Army Air Force Base Unit, Drew Field Tampa, Florida for 28 months, 14 of which were spent as a line chief over 80 B-17 and 16 C-47 type airplanes. He was also stationed at Moses Lake, Washington and Blythe, California.
