Activity During WWII

Joined the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1942 as a gunner on a B-26 bomber. Shot down over Italy in August, 1943. Listed as missing in action until July 5th, 1944, where he escaped and crossed back into allied lines near Rome. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart and discharged in May, 1945.
