Activity During WWII

Enlisted in September 28, 1942. Boot Camp in Rhode Island and initially stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Served overseas almost 24 months, in Iceland, France, North Africa and the mid Atlantic aboard the USS Vulcan as a Diesel engine mechanic. Stationed at Brunswick, Maine in 1945, he was killed on April 23,1945 aboard the PR-56 Eagle, sunk off Portland, Maine by the U-Boat 853.
