He was a Ft. Monmouth, 90 Day wonder graduating from Signal Corps Officer Candidate School (Class 43-24) in 1943. Fluent in German he was stationed in eastern France where he served as an interrogator of German prisoners, including a captured German General Officer. He was part of a Signal Service Company monitoring enemy radio traffic, which would pick up dramatically when the Panzer Tanks were about to move. He then sent his analysis daily to XX Corps for General George S. Patton, Jr.
