Activity During WWII

He joined the Army in October, 1941. He was trained and qualified as a Parachutist in 1943 and joined Company C, 503rd Parachute Infantry parachuting into and fighting in the Philippine Islands, including New Guinea, Leyte and Corregidor. On February 16, 1945 he was severely injured and blinded during the aerial/amphibious assault to retake the island of Corregidor. He was honorably discharged on April 10, 1946.
