Served aboard the LCI-359, the smallest ocean vessel in the Navy. He took part in 14 separate invasions in the Pacific and served in the battles of Bismarck Sea, New Guinea, Leyte Gulf and the Philippine Islands. He was awarded the American theatre ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with seven stars and three arrowheads, the WWII Victory medal, the Philippine Presidential citation and Philippine Liberation medal with 2 stars.
