Activity During WWII

Entered service June 12, 1942 at Mineral Wells, Texas. Basic training at Camp Rucker, Alabama. Assigned to Company B, 321st Regiment, 81st Infantry Division. Participated in the invasion of Anguar Island, then joined Peleliu Island campaign. Followed by invasion of Pulo Anna in Philippine Sea. After rehabilitation and training in New Caledonia, participated in mopping-up operations on Leyte, Philippine Islands. Occupied northern tip of Honshu Island, Japan immediately after Japanese surrender. Discharged December 1945 at San Antonio, Texas at rank of Staff Sergeant.
