I was in the Infantry and was transferred to the Air Corps. I trained and was waiting to be sent to the South Pacific on a special mission in a D-38 Squadron, when the U.S. dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. So, we were not sent over. Was in the service, 4-1/2 years.
