Activity During WWII

Enlisted in 1941. Officer Candidate School at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Commissioned in 1942 as a Platoon commander in the amphibious engineers. Later Brevet Captain and squadron commander. Served in Australia and the Philippine Islands and awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge for landings at Luzon. Awarded the American theater, Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with arrowhead and stars, the Philippine Liberation ribbon and the American Defense and WWII Victory medals.
