SERVED FROM AUGUST 3, 1942 UNTIL DECEMBER 18, 1945. SERVED WITH COMPANY 'A', 117TH ENGINEER COMBAT BATTALION. SAW ACTION IN THE NORTHERN SOLOMON ISLANDS AND LUZON CAMPAIGNS. WAS WOUNDED IN ACTION ON SEPTEMBER 14, 1943 WHILE IN NEW GEORGIA. AWARDED THE PURPLE HEART, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE SERVICE STAR AND 1 BRONZE ARROWHEAD, WWII VICTORY MEDAL, PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL, DISTINGUISHED UNIT CITATION, PHILIPPINE PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION AND THE MARKSMAN BADGE WITH RIFLE BAR.
