Activity During WWII

Enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces on September 25, 1942. B-17G Flying Fortress Left Waist Gunner and Aircraft Armorer with the 708th Bombardment Squadron at Rattlesden Airfield, Suffolk, England. Completed 30 missions from January to April, 1944 in the European Theater of Operations. Honorably discharged on September 10, 1945. His decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, five Air Medals, the Good Conduct Medal, and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal for the Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland campaigns.
