Served with the Navy Seabees as a Carpenter's Mate from September 10, 1942 until November 10, 1945, primarily with the 41st Naval Construction Battalion, also with the 56th Naval Construction Battalion toward the end of the war. He was stationed at Kodiak Island, Alaska, Guam and Wake Islands. Honorably Discharged as a Carpenter's Mate 1st Class in 1945.
