Activity During WWII

Cleveland was inducted December 9, 1943, and served as an Army PVT in the 542nd SIG HV Con BN. He entered into service at Ft. Benning, GA December 23, 1945. His Battles and Campaigns were in New Guinea; Luxon. His occupation was a cook. Decorations and citations included an Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations (APTO) Medal; Philippine Liberation; and a World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Cleveland and Berta divorced some time after Cleveland returned from his tour of duty in the Army.
