Activity During WWII

On October 16, 1940, my 6-foot, 152-pound Uncle completed his World War II Registration. One year later, on October 14, 1941, he enlisted in the United States Army at Fort Benning, Georgia. He reported for duty on January 28, 1942. Marvin attended the AGF Technical School Pacific Theater for 13 weeks of training. Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 24th Infantry; His occupation was a Radio Operator Low Speed 776. Uncle Marvin earned an Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with 2 Bronz Stars, an American Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal AR700-68. He was honorably discharged on October 18, 1945, at Fort McPherson, GA.
