Commissioned in 1941 in ROTC at UMO, he was assigned to Officer Training Command and commissioned a Lieutenant just after Pearl Harbor. He served as a test engineer for the Navy at Chrysler at Detroit, Galveston and the Pentagon. He was discharged in 1947.
