Activity During WWII

Rank: Private. On July 14, 1944, he entered the Untied States Army with his induction at Cleveland, Ohio. Completed his Army Combat Infantry and Tank Training at Camp Barkeley, Texas. Served as a Tank Gunner with the 778th Tank Battalion, Tenth Armored ‘Tiger’ Division attached to the U.S. Seventh Army in the European Theater of Operations. Killed in Action Thursday, March 15, 1945 during the capture and occupation of Trier, Germany and buried in the battlefield. After the cessation of hostilities in Europe, his family requested that his remains be interred in the American Cemetery in Hamm, Luxembourg. This Solder and American Patriot awarded the Purple Heart posthumously, who so gallantly gave his life for his country.
