He served in the 8th Air Force Squadron, 448th Bomb Group, 713th Squadron. Shipped out on the Queen Mary on Thanksgiving Day to Glasgow, England. The trip took four days. He loaded bombs and was in care of maintenance on the turrets and the 50 caliber machine guns. loaded bombs on the B-24 aircraft and for all the bombing missions into Germany. After the war, came back to the United States on a B-24, September 1945, through Scotland, Newfoundland, and Iceland to New York City.
