Activity During WWII

Technician Third Grade, Medical Aid. Enlisted and completed basic training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, Indiana. After specialized medical training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, assigned to the 407th Infantry Regiment, 102nd Infantry Division, for combat training at Camp Swift, Texas. Served overseas in the European Theater of Operations entering action at Geilenkirchen, Germany, before crossing the Roer River at Linnich. Crossed the Rhine River on a foot bridge at Wessel for the final drive with the U.S. Ninth Army before meeting the Russians at Stendal on the West bank of the Elbe River. At war's end returned to Camp Atterbury, Indiana, for separation from the service.
