He was part of the Rome-Arno Campaign in 1944 and the Rhineland Campaign in 1944-1945. For his service, he was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
