Activity During WWII

Accepted into the navy V-5 pilot's program in early 1942 he received his wings at Corpus Christi Naval Station in 1943. Subsequently he flew over 50 combat missions out of Dunkeswell, England as a pilot of a B-24 Sea patrol Liberator. He was awarded 5 Air medals, the Navy Commendation medal for an attack upon a U-Boat and the European campaign ribbon.
