17th Airborne Division, B Battery, 464th Parachute Field Artillery. Arrived in Eastern France in early February 1945. Unit attached to the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment Combat Team for Operation Varsity. Jumped into Drop Zone 'W' near Fluren, Germany on March 24th 1945. His main Canopy was shot up and had to land with his reserve parachute. His Unit fought as infantry in the Battle until able to retrieve and assemble their Components of their Pack Howitzers.
